Record BAC Numbers at Cardiff 5k

Sunday evening saw a record number of BAC runners compete in the Cardiff 5K at Whitchurch. This race is growing in stature and atmosphere in equal measure, with this year seeing Dewi Griffiths and Innes Fitzgerald take the honours in competitive races at the head of the field.

Making a welcome return for club after a number of years in the wilderness (Cardiff AC.. 😊) our first runner home was Jonathan Phillips in an impressive 15:46.

Next in was BAC Mark Emery was our first runner home in a PB of 16:08, followed by Ffion Higginson, back up from college – also earning a great PB of 17:57. Third home for the club was Tom Oliver – again a PB, a massive 44 secs one in 18:15.

Other notable performances were Stephen Summers equalling his PB of 19:37; Ebony Vanderras continuing to improve week on week with a time of 20:14, and Jack Ayoub – our Lebanese Lion running 23:28 – his fastest 5k since 2018 – and now in the V70 category….aging like a fine Chateau Ksara wine from the Bekaa Valley 😊

 Also great to see a number of new joiners in Blue & Yellow for the first time, and so many of our juniors stepping up into the 5K distance – #youthontheirside
